Reliance to set up 1GW AI facility in Andhra Pradesh
What's the story
Reliance Industries is set to establish a massive 1GW artificial intelligence (AI) data center in Andhra Pradesh. The move comes soon after Google announced a similar investment of $15 billion for a 1GW data center cluster in Vizag over the next five years. The new facility will be fully modular and will include advanced graphic processing units, tensor processing units, and AI processors.

MoU for integrated food park signed
The upcoming data center in Andhra Pradesh will be similar to Reliance Industries's existing facility at Jamnagar. The company has also signed an MoU with the state government to set up a greenfield integrated food park in Kurnool over 170 acres. The new food park will produce beverages, packaged drinking water, chocolates, snacks, and flour.

Andhra Pradesh has already signed agreements for 1GW with Google and 500MW with Sify. The state government, led by IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh, is working toward a target of establishing data centers with a total capacity of 6GW.
