Rivian's new AI robotics spin-off is all about industrial efficiency

Business

Rivian, the electric vehicle brand, has kicked off a new company called Mind Robotics.
This spin-off is all about using AI and robotics to make industrial work smarter, tapping into Rivian's own data to boost efficiency in physical world businesses.
CEO RJ Scaringe, who's chairing the board, summed it up: "the potential for AI to really shift how we think about operating in the physical world is, in some ways, unimaginably large"—and that's exactly what they're aiming for.

Seed funding and competition

Mind Robotics isn't wasting time—it's already landed $115 million in seed funding led by Eclipse, a venture firm that knows Rivian well.
Earlier this year, Rivian also launched another tech spinoff with Eclipse and Greenoaks Capital.
While Mind Robotics is keeping details under wraps for now, its trademark hints at wide-ranging uses for its tech.
With big players like Tesla and GM investing in similar spaces, it looks like Rivian wants to be right at the front of the industrial AI wave.
