'Tinder to bakery': How a couple built ₹5.8cr revenue
What started as a Tinder swipe in 2019 turned into more than just a love story—Kai Yang Chan and Jiayi Zhuo are now running CakeInspiration, a bakery that pulled in over ₹5.8 crore last year.
They revived Zhuo's family bakery during the pandemic, showing how personal connections can spark big business wins.
The journey so far
CakeInspiration began as a home bakery back in 2010, but things really took off when Zhuo launched Eggyi. Co and Petissier during COVID, targeting Gen-Z cake lovers and even pet owners.
Chan joined in 2022, bringing fresh ideas like B2B deals and celebrity collabs.
With two kitchens, 14 staffers, and cakes ranging from $100 to $10,000 for some pretty high-profile clients, their teamwork has turned CakeInspiration into something seriously impressive.
