Z.AI raises $5 billion via Hong Kong shares and bonds
Z.AI, a leading Chinese AI company, is raising $5 billion: $2 billion from new shares in Hong Kong at a discounted price and another 20.14 billion yuan ($3 billion) through zero-coupon convertible bonds due in September 2027.
This fresh cash boost comes as Z.AI looks to expand fast and stay competitive in the global AI race.
Z.AI to fund research and infrastructure
The funds will go straight into research, beefing up computing power, building infrastructure, and making strategic investments (including possible acquisitions).
The fundraising is being handled by China International Capital Corporation and Guotai Junan Securities (Hong Kong).
Z.AI has been on a roll since going public in January and already raised $4 billion back in July, so this latest move shows it's not slowing down anytime soon.
