Why Aamir rejected 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' sequel idea
Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, a 2008 romantic comedy starring Imran Khan and Genelia Deshmukh (then D'Souza), has a special place in the hearts of many fans. Recently, director Abbas Tyrewala revealed that he had once considered a sequel to the film, but was discouraged by actor-producer Aamir Khan. The film's potential sequel was discussed during a recent conversation on the YouTube channel Cyrus Says.
Aamir called sequel idea 'the stupidest thing'
Tyrewala shared, he had proposed a sequel to Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na to Aamir, but the superstar who backed the film, immediately dismissed the idea. "I took it to Khan saab and I told him that the film starts with Jay and Aditi living separately. They are separated and Jay has an affair with Meghna. Aamir said, 'I don't care who makes the sequel to Jaane Tu, it will never be you. He said this is the stupidest thing."
Tyrewala's sequel idea revolved around Jay, Aditi, and Meghna
Tyrewala explained his sequel concept, stating that after all the romance in the first film, Jay and Aditi would be tired of each other. Jay would then meet his old flame Meghna and start an affair. However, he would ultimately end up with Aditi again. Tyrewala believed this was a realistic depiction of life, but Aamir disagreed and advised him to never mention the sequel idea again.
