Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt has joined the production of Tumbbad 2, the much-awaited sequel to the 2018 folk horror film. The actor was spotted on set recently, donning a casual look in an oversized striped shirt and a high ponytail. She was seen posing with crew members during her visit to the ongoing shoot schedule, which reportedly includes scenes set around a river and an old fort.

Bhatt's casting in 'Tumbbad 2'
Bhatt's casting in Tumbbad 2 was officially announced in July.
Actor-producer Sohum Shah took to social media to welcome her to the franchise, saying, "The world of Tumbbad expands, a new chapter takes shape."
This will be Bhatt's first major project in the horror genre.
She will share screen space with Shah and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who has also been confirmed for an important role in the sequel.

The makers of Tumbbad 2 have announced a theatrical release date of December 3, 2027.
Shah had earlier teased the sequel with a poster that read, "A sinful past, an ominous future."
