With the film on hold, Batra (The Lunchbox) has now turned his attention to the Netflix series Unaccustomed Earth. The series is an adaptation of Jhumpa Lahiri's acclaimed anthology of the same name. Batra will direct two episodes and serve as an executive producer for this project. The story revolves around a homemaker who meets her long-lost love, making it a perfect fit for Batra's sensibilities.
