Veteran actor Satish Shah passed away on Saturday at the age of 74 due to kidney failure. The news has left his colleagues and fans in shock. Several Bollywood stars, including Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Anupam Kher, and R Madhavan, expressed their grief over the loss. Shah is survived by his wife, Madhu Shah. His last rites will be held on Sunday.

Shah's death saddened Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra
Chopra Jonas shared a post on Instagram Stories, writing, "Rest in Peace, Satishji." Kapoor Khan posted a picture of Shah from Sarabhai vs Sarabhai with Sumeet Raghvan and Rajesh Kumar. She wrote, "Rest in glory (folded hands and star emojis) Satish Shah (rainbow emoji)." On X (formerly Twitter), Roshan said he would never forget the kindness Shah showed him as a newcomer on set. Raghvan and Rakesh Bedi also shared emotional videos, remembering Shah.

Kher broke down on camera
Madhavan shared a photo with Shah and Mandira Bedi, writing, "The heavens will be a merrier and a happier place now... You will be missed so very much, Satish Ji." Kher, who was in Switzerland when he heard the news, shared an emotional video. He said, "In three days, we lost three amazing people...my smile hides a lot of sorrow." He also expressed his condolences to Shah's wife. "Shabd hi nahi hai Satish Shah ke loss ke liye," Kher said.
Hospital's statement
Shah was found unresponsive, couldn't be revived: Hospital
On Saturday evening, Hinduja Hospital released a statement about Shah's passing. It read, "Earlier today, the hospital received an emergency call regarding Mr Shah's health. An ambulance with a medical team was immediately sent to his residence, where he was found to be unresponsive." "CPR was started in the ambulance and continued on arrival at P.D. Hinduja Hospital and Medical Research Centre. Despite the best efforts of our medical team, Mr Shah could not be revived."
Career
Looking at Shah's career
Shah, a graduate of St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, and the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, made his acting debut with Arvind Desai Ki Ajeeb Dastaan (1978). He went on to star in over 250 films, including Shakti, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Main Hoon Na, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Fanaa and Om Shanti Om. On TV, he is best remembered for his role as Indravadan Sarabhai in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. May he rest in peace.
