When Anurag's tweets against Modi brought threats to his parents
Anurag Kashyap has opened up on what followed after he criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter. The filmmaker had targeted the PM after a ban was imposed on the Pakistani artistes in Bollywood. Recounting the aftermath of his tweets, Kashyap said that people went on to threaten his parents.
"The trolling went on for 6-8 months"
Kashyap had extended his support to Karan Johar when his 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' was mired in controversy for featuring Fawad Khan. "During the 'ADHM' controversy, when I tweeted to the PM, people went after my personal life, they started threatening my parents. My family got scared. That was really very scary. The trolling went on for six-eight months," he said.
The director demanded an apology from Modi for visiting Pakistan
In October 2016, Kashyap targeted Modi in a series of tweets. He wrote, "@narendramodi Sir you haven't yet said sorry for your trip to meet the Pakistani PM. It was dec 25th. Same time KJo was shooting ADHM? Why? Why is it that we have to face it while you can be silent??" "And you actually diverted your trip on our tax money."
