Anushka Sharma approached for 'Satte Pe Satta' remake: Report

What's the story

Earlier, it was reported that Rohit Shetty and Farah Khan have joined hands for the remake of Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini starrerSatte Pe Satta. There were also reports that Hrithik Roshan would be reprising Big B's dual role of Ravi Anand/Babu. And now, if recent reports are to believed, Anushka Sharma has been approached to step into Hema's shoes for the remake.

Anushka is pondering over the idea of doing the movie

According to a Pinkvilla report, the discussion between Anushka and the makers are still at a rather initial stage. In fact, the Jab Harry Met Sejal actress is still pondering over the idea to be a part of the project. Interestingly, Anushka isn't the first actress to be thought of for the remake. Earlier, Deepika Padukone was also, reportedly, approached.

Ajay Devgn was also approached for 'Satte Pe Satta' remake

On the other hand, Hrithik was also not the first choice for Amitabh's role in the much talked-about remake. Earlier, rumors said that Ajay Devgn was approached for the double role. "Ajay would have been perfect to play Ravi and the impersonator Babu with grey shades so it would have been a challenging role for any actor to play," a source had stated.

Refusal

Ajay will never do a remake of Bachchan's movie

However, Ajay refused to step into Big B's shoes for the remake, fearing that it might affect their personal terms. In fact, he emphasized that he'll never feature in a remake of Bachchan's movies. "Ajay has tremendous respect for Amitabh. Also, he considers Abhishek as his younger brother, to be doing a movie which could put stress on the relationships," the source added.

Meanwhile, Anushka, who was last seen in Zero (2018) opposite Shah Rukh Khan, hasn't signed any project till now, and wants to take time off from the big screen. Calling it a "conscious decision", she said that she "was feeling too worked up," after doing back-to-back films. However, there are reports that the PK actress might soon be seen in a thrilling cop drama.
