Tech giant Apple has announced a collaboration with Oprah Winfrey to churn out original content.
Although it did not reveal the exact role that Winfrey will play in the shows, a representative stated the programs will embrace her incomparable ability to connect with audiences around the world.
The video streaming war has intensified
Netflix, Amazon and Apple are currently amidst a full-blown video streaming war.
In order to attain the highest viewership, the three companies have resorted to revamp their original programming.
Just recently, Netflix signed a multi-year production deal with the Obamas and 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Scandal' creator Shonda Rhimes.
On the other hand, Apple had also roped in Reese Witherspoon and Steven Spielberg.
What does Oprah's addition mean for Apple?
Apple is likely to benefit from Oprah's massive global popularity. She will bring with herself a fleet of new consumers for the tech company. This move by Apple will certainly give a new dynamic to the ongoing video streaming war.
