From one of the top executives in Bollywood to being fired as a result of sexual harassment allegations, Ashish Patil’s fall from grace was swift and sudden. Hailing from Maharashtra, Patil was born on July 31, 1975. A graduate in commerce from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, Pattil later completed his post-graduation in management from KJ Somaiya’s Institute of Management Studies. Before joining Yash Raj Films and becoming one of the most powerful studio executives in the country, Patil worked in MTV. Under his leadership, MTV became more than just music and TV. With new shows and rebranding, he increased MTV’s viewership and ratings. In 2010, he joined Yash Raj Films. During his time there, he ventured into writing and producing films. Films made by him include ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’ amongst others. As the business and creative head, he headed the PR campaigns for various successful films like ‘Sultan,’ ‘Befikre,’ etc. In 2018, he was fired by Yash Raj Films due to sexual harassment allegations raised against him by a woman.
