Bombay HC lets Kalyani siblings update family dispute case
The Bombay High Court has given Sameer Hiremath and Pallavi Swadi the green light to update their lawsuit against their uncles, Baba and Gaurishankar Kalyani.
The siblings say shares in Bharat Forge, Kalyani Steels, and Kalyani Consultants actually belong to a Hindu Undivided Family started by their great-grandfather—and not just the current promoters.
They want to stop their uncles from using voting rights on these shares.
What the court said and what's next
Justice N.J. Jamadar used the Supreme Court's "real controversy test" to allow changes to the lawsuit, overruling an earlier Pune court decision.
The siblings now have three weeks to file updates; their uncles get 30 days to reply.
The Kalyani Group called this move procedural, saying it doesn't settle anything yet.
With RJD & Partners representing them, the siblings' fight is part of a bigger family clash over company shares and board control—so this ruling could shape what happens next.
