Sanya Malhotra signed for 'The Great Indian Kitchen's Hindi remake
Jeo Baby's highly acclaimed Malayalam film The Great Indian Kitchen is getting an official Hindi remake. It will be directed by Arati Kadav, who previously had helmed Cargo. The film will be backed by Harman Baweja via his Baweja Studios. Sanya Malhotra has been roped in to lead the remake, while Baweja will reportedly play the male lead. This is Malhotra-Baweja's first collaboration.
Talking of the remake, Baweja said, "There is a certain mystic quality attached to The Great Indian Kitchen. The story stays with you well after the film." "I wanted to make it for a pan-India audience with the perfect balance between entertainment and content-driven drama. I am super excited to collaborate with Sanya (Malhotra) and Arati (Kadav)," the 41-year-old creator and producer added.
Meanwhile, Malhotra said, "As an actor, I could not have asked for a better character. I am more than excited to start working on my role because there are so many layers and nuances to it." "It is one of the most tightly written scripts I have come across, and I am all set to to add my voice to the drama," said Kadav.
