'Dacoit': Adivi Sesh on postponing film to avoid 'Dhurandhar' clash
What's the story
The much-awaited trailer of the upcoming film Dacoit was released on Saturday. The film stars Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles and is directed by Shaneil Deo. During the launch event, Sesh spoke about delaying the movie from March 19 to April 10 to avoid a clash with Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
Release date change
'It was a very good date for the South version...'
Sesh said, "Originally, we were scheduled to arrive in cinemas on March 19 to coincide with Ugadi, the Telugu New Year." "Hence, it was a very good date for the South version. However, we didn't get the desired showcasing because of my friend Aditya Dhar's phenomenal film, Dhurandhar." Interestingly, Dacoit would have clashed with Bhooth Bangla, but the latter has now been pushed from April 10 to April 17. Paid previews will begin on April 16, starting 9:00pm.
Consulting
'This is when our distributors informed us...'
Sesh revealed consulting distributors on a new release date. He said, "We thought we should find a date on which we would get the right showcasing." "This is when our distributors informed us that we would get great showcasing, appropriate show timings, and correct theaters on April 10." "Only then did we announce the new date."
