Bollywood's Dhurandhar, released in December, emerged as a number-one title in Pakistan after its Netflix release. Despite being banned in Pakistan, it shot to the top of Netflix charts there.
Now, a Reddit user claiming to be Pakistani is praising the movie for getting local culture right and shutting down claims of anti-Pakistan bias.
Viewer said film brought back nostalgia and respect
The viewer highlighted how Dhurandhar nailed authentic Urdu dialogue and small details—like Imran Khan rickshaw ads and "hamara kaptaan Imran" chants—that made scenes feel real.
He said director Aditya Dhar's research was so on point he kept pausing just to appreciate it.
Instead of stirring negativity, the film brought back nostalgia and respect—even with its initial ban.
