Ex-NCB officer Sameer Wankhede sues 'BOB' makers for defamation

Entertainment

Sameer Wankhede, the ex-NCB officer known for leading the 2021 Aryan Khan drug case, has sued Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment for defamation.
He says their series, The Ba***ds of Bollywood (directed by Aryan Khan), mocks him and even includes a scene he believes disrespects national symbols.
The Delhi High Court has asked the makers to respond within a week, but hasn't stopped the show's release.

Online trolling has affected Wankhede's family, says lawyer

Wankhede called the case "a matter of self-respect, personal dignity, and personal honor," stressing it's not about his job.
He shared that his family has been getting hate messages from abroad, which led him to file police complaints.
His lawyer added that online trolling has taken a toll on his loved ones.

Aryan Khan defended the series earlier

Aryan Khan said the series was meant to be self-deprecating, not insulting.
The Delhi High Court is still looking into the case and hasn't made a final decision yet.
