'Frankenstein': First look at Jacob Elordi as the monster

Entertainment

Netflix just dropped the first look at Jacob Elordi as Frankenstein's monster in Guillermo del Toro's new adaptation, and it's not your usual scary creature.
Del Toro has reimagined the monster as a striking, alabaster figure—more like a work of art than a horror icon.
The film lands on Netflix November 7, 2025.

Del Toro's unique take on the classic horror character

Instead of patchwork scars and stitches, del Toro designed the monster as a "jigsaw puzzle" with real visual unity.
He leaned into practical effects—think detailed makeup and authentic sets—to make the creature feel more human.

The film will have a limited theatrical run

The first image was revealed today (September 30), with the trailer dropping tomorrow.
After a limited theater run starting October 17, you can catch it streaming on Netflix from November 7.
Besides Elordi, the cast includes Mia Goth, Felix Kammerer, David Bradley, Lars Mikkelsen, Christian Convery, with Charles Dance and Christoph Waltz.
