HBO's 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' gets Season 2 before its debut

HBO has already renewed A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for a second season—even though Season 1 doesn't premiere until January 18, 2026.
Announced by HBO CEO Casey Bloys, the show is set about 100 years before Game of Thrones and is based on George R.R. Martin's Tales of Dunk and Egg.

This series follows Ser Duncan "Dunk" the Tall and his squire Egg as they travel through Westeros, promising more character-driven stories in a familiar world.
With Martin and Ira Parker co-creating, and Season 1 directed by Owen Harris and Sarah Adina Smith, HBO looks all-in on expanding the GoT universe—plus they just confirmed House of the Dragon Season 4 too.
