Hema Malini to host prayer meet for Dharmendra in Delhi
What's the story
Veteran actor Hema Malini will host a prayer meeting in New Delhi on Thursday, December 11, to pay tribute to her late husband, Dharmendra. Malini will be joined by her daughters, Esha and Ahana, along with their respective partners, Bharat Takhtani (ex-husband) and Vaibhav Vohra. The gathering will take place at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre from 4:00pm-6:00pm, per NDTV. Earlier, Dharmendra's first wife Prakash Kaur, and their children had held a similar event in Mumbai on November 27.

The first prayer meet saw many celebrities from the Hindi film industry in attendance. Notable names included Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Jackie Shroff, among others. The evening concluded with a musical tribute by Sonu Nigam, who sang some of Dharmendra's favorite songs, such as Aa Ja Jaane Wale and Rahe Na Rahe Hum.

Malini held a Gita Paath in Dharmendra's memory
Several actors, including Mahima Chaudhry and Fardeen Khan, visited Malini personally to extend their condolences on the same day as the Deols's prayer meet. In addition to the prayer meet, Malini also organized a Gita Paath at her residence in memory of her late husband. Dharmendra passed away on November 24 at the age of 89, days after he was discharged from the hospital.
