Indywood's 'Being' wins Best AI Visualized Film at IFFI 2025

Indywood's film "Being" just took home the Best AI Visualized Film award at IFFI 2025 in Goa.
This was part of the festival's first-ever Cinema AI Hackathon, where over 500 participants from 18 countries competed, with the top 10 teams given 48 hours to create a two-minute film on a theme revealed at the event.
"Being" stood out with its story about a boy in misty north Kerala, inspired by local folklore.

Other highlights from the hackathon

The team behind "Being" includes writer Sumesh Lal, visual artist Alby Nataraj, and creative collaborator Bichu Venu. The film was screened at Waves, Film Bazaar.
Other big winners were "The Red Crayon" by Kalpanik (Best AI Film), "Remory" by Atomeist (Most Innovative AI Film), plus awards for storytelling and sound design went to "Lost and Found" by Samresh Shrivastava and "Final Monsoon Echo" by Rajesh Bhosle.
