Confirmed! Varun Dhawan to make special appearance in 'Stree 2'
What's the story
Varun Dhawan, who made his way into Dinesh Vijan's horror-comedy universe with 2022's Bhediya, has confirmed his special appearance in the upcoming film, Stree 2. This news follows much speculation after the release of the movie's trailer featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. Dhawan will be seen alongside Kapoor in a special song for the film.

Dhawan teases 'Khoobsurat' song on Instagram
Dhawan took to Instagram to confirm his cameo in Stree 2, sharing a teaser of the song titled Khoobsurat. The romantic track is set to release on Friday. In his post, Dhawan wrote, "Iss Stree ki khoobsurti ka kaun hai yeh naya aashiq? #Khoobsurat Song Out Tomorrow! #Stree2, the legend returns this Independence Day, August 15. Bhediya se yeh mulaqat #Khoobsurat rahi! Stay tuned!"

How the horror universe is interconnected
This is not the first time Dhawan and Kapoor have collaborated. Kapoor previously made a cameo appearance in Bhediya's track Thumkeshwari. Earlier this year, Dhawan also had a cameo role in Aditya Sarpotdar's Munjya, another film in the horror-comedy universe. In that scene, he was joined by Abhishek Banerjee, who appears in both the Stree franchise and in Bhediya.

Stree 2 is a sequel to the 2018 film Stree which received critical acclaim and commercial success. Directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Jio Studios and Vijan's Maddock Films, Stree 2 is set to release on August 15. It will clash with Sharvari-John Abraham-Ashish Vidyarthi's Vedaa and Akshay Kumar-Taapsee Pannu's Khel Khel Mein.
