Taapsee Pannu, born on August 1, 1987, is an Indian actress who mainly works in the Telugu, Hindi, and Tamil film industries. She made her acting debut in 2010 with the romantic musical Telugu movie ‘Jhummandi Naadam’. Pannu’s Bollywood debut came in 2013 with David Dhawan's comedy ‘Chashme Baddoor’. Some of her notable roles were in 'Pink', 'Badla’, ’Aadukalam’ (Tamil), 'The Ghazi Attack’, ‘Naam Shabhana’, 'Mulk’, 'Manmarziyaan', and ‘Mission Mangal’, among other films. For portraying the septuagenarian sharpshooter Prakashi Tomar in the 2019 biopic film 'Saand Ki Aankh', she was conferred the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress. In 2020, she received critical acclaim for her performance in Anubhav Sinha's ‘Thappad’, which also won Pannu her first Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She was ranked 67th in 'Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list in 2018. She has served as the brand ambassador for numerous brands, including Uber, Nivea, Garnier, Kurkure, and Women’s Horlicks, among others.
