What's the story

Renowned filmmaker Anubhav Sinha, known for socially relevant narratives like Mulk and Bheed, among others, is reportedly returning to the courtroom drama genre. According to PeepingMoon, Sinha will be directing a new film with Taapsee Pannu in the lead role. The project won't be a sequel to Mulk but will share its thematic approach.

Film's theme

Sinha's film to talk about hard-hitting societal issues

Per the portal, "The film is said to be tackling hard-hitting and burning issues and promises to deliver a thought-provoking message that resonates with contemporary society." "It's expected to be yet another fearless storytelling from Sinha, staying true to his signature courage of addressing topics that many filmmakers shy away from." The film will go on floors in April in Delhi under Sinha's Benaras Media Works banner.

Star cast

Pannu's third collaboration with Sinha

The yet-to-be-titled film will be the third collaboration between Pannu and Sinha, after their successful projects Mulk and Thappad. The ensemble cast also features seasoned actors Manoj Pahwa and Kumud Mishra, who are regulars in Sinha's films. Reportedly, more casting is underway for other key roles in the film.

Future ventures

Pannu's upcoming projects before Sinha's film

Before starting the shoot for Sinha's film, Pannu will reportedly wrap up her work on Netflix's action thriller Gandhari. In the project, she plays a determined mother on a mission to rescue her kidnapped daughter. The Haseen Dillruba actor also has a romantic comedy titled Woh Ladki Hai Kahan with Pratik Gandhi slated for release later this year.
