Kangana Ranaut to produce film on Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid case
After donning the hat of a director in the film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut had recently announced that she will roll out her own production house. And now, the 32-year-old has confirmed that she will make her production debut with a film titled Aparajitha Ayodhya, that will be based on the Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid case. Here are more details.
The Ayodhya verdict was pronounced by SC on November 9
To recall, the long-pending Ayodhya land dispute case was resolved on November 9. The Supreme Court handed over the disputed 2.77 acre land for the construction of a Ram temple, while granting an alternate 5 acre land for setting up a mosque.
"The (Ayodhya) case has changed the face of Indian politics"
Upon being asked why she chose the said topic, Kangana told Mumbai Mirror, "The Ram temple has been a burning topic for hundreds of years. I have grown up hearing the name Ayodhya in a negative light." "The case has changed the face of Indian politics and the verdict has ended the centuries-old dispute while embodying the secular spirit of India," she further added.
'Aparajitha Ayodhya' to be scripted by KV Vijayendra Prasad
Notably, the movie will be scripted by KV Vijayendra Prasad, who created the epic Baahubali franchise. Explaining what sets her film apart, Kangana said, "What makes Aparajitha Ayodhya different is that it is the journey of the protagonist from a non-believer to a believer. And since, it reflects my personal journey, I decided it would be the apt subject for my first production."
Kangana's production house to be launched by January, 2020
Kangana's production house, called Manikarnika Films will reportedly be opened in Khar by January, 2020. Expressing her excitement about venturing into production, Kangana had said, "I want to [back] a few small films and see how that goes. Eventually, I may do something on a bigger level." However, she clarified that she would not be acting in these films.
Kangana was last seen in Prakash Kovelamudi's 'Judgementall Hai Kya'
Meanwhile, as an actor, Kangana will soon be seen in Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's sports drama film Panga. It is slated to release on January 24, 2020.
