  • After donning the hat of a director in the film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut had recently announced that she will roll out her own production house.

    And now, the 32-year-old has confirmed that she will make her production debut with a film titled Aparajitha Ayodhya, that will be based on the Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid case.

    The Ayodhya verdict was pronounced by SC on November 9

  • To recall, the long-pending Ayodhya land dispute case was resolved on November 9. The Supreme Court handed over the disputed 2.77 acre land for the construction of a Ram temple, while granting an alternate 5 acre land for setting up a mosque.

  • Upon being asked why she chose the said topic, Kangana told Mumbai Mirror, "The Ram temple has been a burning topic for hundreds of years. I have grown up hearing the name Ayodhya in a negative light."

    "The case has changed the face of Indian politics and the verdict has ended the centuries-old dispute while embodying the secular spirit of India," she further added.

    'Aparajitha Ayodhya' to be scripted by KV Vijayendra Prasad

  • Notably, the movie will be scripted by KV Vijayendra Prasad, who created the epic Baahubali franchise.

    Explaining what sets her film apart, Kangana said, "What makes Aparajitha Ayodhya different is that it is the journey of the protagonist from a non-believer to a believer. And since, it reflects my personal journey, I decided it would be the apt subject for my first production."

    Kangana's production house to be launched by January, 2020

  • Kangana's production house, called Manikarnika Films will reportedly be opened in Khar by January, 2020.

    Expressing her excitement about venturing into production, Kangana had said, "I want to [back] a few small films and see how that goes. Eventually, I may do something on a bigger level."

    However, she clarified that she would not be acting in these films.

  • Meanwhile, as an actor, Kangana will soon be seen in Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's sports drama film Panga. It is slated to release on January 24, 2020.

    She is also working on Thalaivi, a biopic based on the life of late actor-turned-politician and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

    That apart, she also has an action film, titled Dhaakad, in the pipeline.
