Karnataka adds 2% charge to multiplex movie tickets

Heading to the movies in Karnataka? The Karnataka government is planning to introduce a 2% extra charge on multiplex tickets, pending legislative approval.
The state is rolling out this new cess to support welfare programs for cinema and cultural workers.
The official bill for this change is set to be discussed in the legislature's winter session starting December 8.

What else did the Cabinet decide?

The government also announced a 'One Time Settlement' plan for Bangalore's water bill defaulters, waiving ₹262 crore in interest on overdue bills.
Plus, they're putting ₹100 crore toward better landfill management in Bengaluru.
On top of that, there's a new policy aimed at making iron ore handling smoother at smaller ports—another move to boost state infrastructure.
