Katrina unfazed by 'ToH' failure, says 'it wasn't my film'
2018 wasn't a fruitful year for Katrina Kaif. After all, her two big releases, Thugs Of Hindostan and Zero tanked at the box office. Unsurprisingly, these movies were among the most anticipated movies of 2018. However, both of them failed to draw the audience to the theatres. While Katrina takes responsibility for everything she does, the actress clarified that ToH was not her movie.
'ToH' failure didn't hit Katrina hard, not 'much emotion invested'
ToH was a multi-starrer movie with Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead. Much to everyone's surprise, Katrina had a minor role in the movie with only two songs and a few scenes. As a result, the ToH fiasco didn't affect her as she wasn't a big part of it. "There wasn't too much emotion invested in it," Katrina added.
But, Katrina felt bad for her 'ToH' team
Furthermore, Katrina asserted that she did feel bad for the Thugs Of Hindostan team who had invested their blood and sweat in the movie. "The emotion I felt was more invested because they are really good friends of mine. I know how much they put into the film. It went wrong. But why things go wrong, that we don't know," Katrina was quoted saying.
Katrina was skeptical about 'Zero', says was nervous about climax
Unfortunately, Katrina's last release Zero was also a debacle at the box office. Although her performance of an alcoholic actress was lauded by everyone, the movie couldn't leave a mark at the box office. Talking about the same, Katrina asserted that she was quite nervous about Zero's climax and wasn't sure if director Aanand L. Rai would be able to pull it all together.
'Aanand really went a step too far at certain places'
"I was very nervous about how Aanand sir would wind up Zero. Because I felt that was very tricky. He really went out there and in certain places, I think maybe it was a step too far which lost its relatability to audience," Katrina said.
After two flops, Katrina is pinning all hopes on 'Bharat'
After two consecutive flops, Katrina is looking forward to the success of her first release of 2019 - Bharat. Also starring Salman Khan in the lead, the movie is based on South Korean movie Ode To My Father. Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Bharat also features Tabu, Sunil Grover, Jackie Shroff, Disha Patani etc. in key roles, along with Varun Dhawan in a cameo.Share this timeline
