'Lahore 1947' title is not getting changed, confirms Aamir Khan
What's the story
Aamir Khan has denied rumors that his upcoming film Lahore 1947 is being renamed Batwara 1947. The speculation arose due to concerns about the Indian audience's reception of a movie named after a Pakistani city. However, Khan told Subhash K Jha, "Where did you hear that? No, the title of our film has not changed. As of now, it is Lahore 1947 and that's how I would like it to be."
Title dispute
Here's the actual reason why the title is courting trouble
The confusion over the title may have arisen from a rights issue, noted the same report. Producer-director Suneel Darshan owns the rights to the title Lahore. However, negotiations are on and the matter will be settled very soon. So, the film will be called Lahore 1947, and a release date should be out soon after.
