Dibakar Banerjee's latest film, Love Sex aur Dhokha 2 (LSD 2), a spiritual successor of Love Sex Aur Dhokha (2010), was released on April 19. On its opening day, LSD 2 earned about ₹15 lakh, followed by a 33.33% decrease in its earnings on the second day. On Day 3 (first Sunday), the film saw a jump of 300%, with the movie netting ₹40 lakh domestically. On Wednesday, its occupancy rate dropped to 7.3% and the ongoing competition with Do Aur Do Pyaar, Maidaan, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has also been a roadblock in its earnings.

Its commercial debacle aside, LSD 2 is notable for featuring transgender actor Rajpurohit in her mainstream Hindi cinema debut. In the clip shared by Balaji Motion Pictures on X/Twitter, Rajpurohit expressed, "Whatever I have come to know about myself, it's all through cinema, and even my story matters." She also shared her journey of working at a small production house where she earned a modest income of ₹10-15K.
