'Mahabharat' actor Gajendra Chauhan scammed out of ₹98K—gets money back

Gajendra Singh Chauhan, best known for playing Yudhishthir in Mahabharat, lost ₹98,000 after falling for a fake Facebook ad promising D-Mart dry fruit discounts.
Tricked into entering an OTP during checkout, he saw the money vanish from his HDFC account on December 10, 2025.

How police got his money back

Chauhan quickly reported the fraud to Oshiwara Police and shared all transaction details.
The Cyber Cell team traced the funds to an account linked with Croma via Razorpay and worked with HDFC Bank and payment platforms to freeze the transfer just in time.
Thanks to their fast action, Chauhan's full amount was recovered and returned—he's since thanked Mumbai Police for their help.
