The team behind Homebound, India's official entry for the 2026 Oscars in the Best International Feature Film category, recently attended a special screening in New York City. The event was hosted by legendary director Martin Scorsese, who is also an executive producer on the film. Director Neeraj Ghaywan and lead actors Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa were present at this star-studded affair.

During the screening, Scorsese and Ghaywan participated in a question-and-answer session. The director later took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his thoughts on this memorable experience. He wrote, "Sitting across from him is the highest point in my career in cinema." "Mr. Martin Scorsese, the EP on #Homebound hosted a screening and did a QnA with me in NYC!" Filmmaker Mira Nair also attended the screening.

About the film
Homebound has been creating a stir on the global film festival circuit, having previously premiered at Cannes and Toronto. The film is based on Basharat Peer's 2020 New York Times article about two real-life friends during the lockdown.
