'Masti 4' struggles to excite, opening weekend under ₹10cr
Masti 4, the latest entry in the adult comedy series directed by Milap Zaveri and starring Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh, and Aftab Shivdasani, hit theaters this weekend.
Despite its familiar faces and franchise reputation for cheeky humor, the film didn't draw big crowds—especially with Farhan Akhtar's war drama 120 Bahadur releasing at the same time.
In numbers:
Masti 4 earned about ₹7 crore nett in India over its first weekend.
That's quite a drop compared to earlier Masti films; for example, Great Grand Masti opened at ₹8.5 crore back in 2016—even with mixed reviews.
How did others do?
120 Bahadur actually saw its collections rise over the weekend—starting at ₹2.25 crore on Day 1 and jumping to ₹4 crore on Day 2 for a total of ₹6.25 crore nett (with fewer shows than Masti 4).
Meanwhile, De De Pyaar De 2 continued to dominate both new releases at the box office.
