Yami Gautam Dhar is all set to begin shooting for the horror-comedy Nayyi Navelli on April 7, reported Mid-Day. The film, produced by Aanand L Rai and directed by Balaji Mohan, tells the story of a new bride who isn't what she appears to be. The production will kick off with a month-long schedule in Mumbai before moving to Bhopal and Meerut for two more months of shooting.

A source told Mid-Day that Gautam Dhar and other cast members, including theater actors, will start shooting in Malwani near Malad. The production designer Ravi Srivastava has reportedly created a huge set of an Indian town where the actor's introductory scenes with her friends and family will be shot. In May, the team will move to Bhopal and Meerut for the next leg of filming.

The source added, "They will film the sasuraal portions, in which certain inexplicable events take place. At first, her character is shown as a picture-perfect bride." While Rai previously backed the acclaimed horror film Tumbbad (2018), Nayyi Navelli will be his first venture into supernatural comedy. Meanwhile, Gautam Dhar has previously starred in the horror-comedy Bhoot Police, co-starring Saif Ali Khan. Recently, she surprised her fans with a cameo in her husband and filmmaker Aditya Dhar's movie Dhurandhar: The Revenge, where she plays a nurse in Pakistan who is actually an undercover Indian agent.
