Sathyaraj denies rumors of playing PM Narendra Modi in biopic

    What's the story

Renowned actor Sathyaraj recently dismissed rumors suggesting he would portray Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an upcoming biopic.

In an interview with Minnambalam, the actor stated, "The news that I am acting in the Prime Minister Modi biopic is news even to me."

He clarified that no one had approached him for such a role and attributed these speculations to random social media chatter.

    Comparison

Sathyaraj compared rumors to sensational newspaper stories

Sathyaraj, known for his role as Kattappa in the Baahubali films, likened these unfounded rumors to sensational newspaper stories of the past.

He stated, "Back in the day, newspapers used to come up with stories like 'Young woman murdered... Is it because of an illicit affair?' Likewise, social media has become a place for such mindless rumors."

The actor emphasized that he would not participate in a film that contradicts his beliefs.

    Upcoming release

Sathyaraj's upcoming film and previous Modi biopic

Sathyaraj is currently awaiting the release of his film Weapon, where he will reportedly play a superhuman.

The film, also starring Rajiv Menon and Vasanth Ravi, is set to hit theaters on May 23.

Not much is known about the upcoming Modi biopic.

But this isn't the first time a biopic on the PM is being made; Omung Kumar previously directed one with Vivek Oberoi in the lead in 2019, which explored Modi's journey from humble beginnings to Prime Minister.
