Pedro Pascal's 'Freaky Tales' becomes streaming hit on HBO Max

Entertainment

"Freaky Tales," starring Pedro Pascal, didn't make much noise at the box office after its April 4 release—earning just below $3 million.
But since landing on HBO Max on August 8, it's jumped into the top three most-streamed films, according to Flixpatrol.

What's the film about?

Set in 1987 Oakland and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, this anthology weaves four stories together with Pascal playing Clint—a guy caught between crime and encounters with punks, female rappers, Neo-Nazis, and supernatural powers.
The film has earned solid praise (74% critics score, 89% audience score), and its cast includes Dominique Thorne, the late Angus Cloud, plus a surprise Tom Hanks cameo.
