Priyadarshan wanted Big B in 'Haiwaan,' not Saif Ali Khan

Director Priyadarshan originally pictured Amitabh Bachchan as the lead in his new film Haiwaan, saying, "I could only think of Mr Bachchan for the role,".
Bachchan had played a similar character before, and Saif Ali Khan now stars as a visually impaired man who uses his heightened senses to track down a killer.
Why should you care?
Haiwaan also has Akshay Kumar as the antagonist—a role he took after others turned it down, simply because he liked the story and trusted Priyadarshan.
The movie is a Hindi remake of Priyadarshan's Malayalam hit Oppam and is one of his recent Hindi projects with an ensemble cast and even a cameo from Mohanlal.
Plus, after 40 years in film, Priyadarshan still dreams of working with Bachchan someday.
