Priyanka Chopra Jonas is all set to return to Indian cinema after a six-year hiatus with the upcoming film Varanasi. In a recent interview with CinemaBlend, she revealed that her only condition for joining the project was to be part of a dance sequence. She revealed she asked director SS Rajamouli, "I have one request, will you make me dance? Please, because I haven't danced for so long." The film also stars Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

Chopra Jonas's request for a dance sequence has resulted in an ambitious filming process. She joked about it, saying, "Whoa, I should not have asked because we be dancing. Oh my gosh, there's a lot." Babu, who plays Rudra in the film, called the dance sequence "sensational." He revealed that they had already shot for it, and it was stuck in their heads. "And Priyanka keeps singing it all the time. And that song was because she wanted to dance and... And he made her dance," he added. The film is set to release on April 7, 2027.
