Priyanka, Nick Jonas to bring a 'Sangeet' series on Amazon
Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas, who recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary, are set to bring forward an unscripted series about the Sangeet ceremony on Amazon. For the uninitiated, Sangeet is an important Indian tradition held the night before the wedding. It is marked by an evening full of music and dance performances from the families of the bride and groom.
Casting underway; filming to take place in 2020
Reportedly, the untitled show will episodically follow engaged couples, their friends and families, as they prepare for the Sangeet ceremony, with the help from celebrity choreographers, stylists, and creative directors. The casting of the series is currently underway, and filming will take place in 2020. The planned show will be released on Amazon's popular video-streaming platform, Prime Video.
Priyanka, Nick to executive-produce the series under their respective banners
The Amazon Studios title will be executive-produced by Priyanka and Nick, along with Dan Cutforth, Jane Lipsitz, Dan Volpe (Alfred Street Industries), Anjula Acharia, Phil McIntyre, and Nina Anand Aujla. Reportedly, while Priyanka will executive produce the show through her Purple Pebble Pictures, Nick will bring the series under his Image 32 banner. Both Priyanka and Nick are pretty excited about the upcoming series.
Priyanka, Nick arranged a blockbuster Sangeet ceremony last year
To recall, Priyanka and Nick also had an extravagant Sangeet function before their wedding ceremony last year. It was attended by the couple's families and many biggies from Bollywood. The two then tied the knot at Jaipur's Umaid Bhawan Palace on December 1, 2018.

Separately, Priyanka was last seen in Shonali Bose's The Sky Is Pink. Reportedly, she is currently working on an untitled Indian wedding comedy with Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor. Furthermore, she will also be seen in Robert Rodriguez's We Can Be Heroes. Meanwhile, Nick recently joined The Voice as a judge for its Spring 2020 season. He also stars in the upcoming Jumanji sequel.
