'Ramayan 2' starts filming January 2026

Entertainment

Ramayan 2, the much-awaited sequel from director Nitesh Tiwari, is set to begin filming in January 2026.
Ranbir Kapoor returns as Lord Ram, with Yash playing Ravana, alongside Sai Pallavi and Sunny Deol.
The film is being called one of India's biggest projects yet, and pre-production—like building massive sets and planning VFX—is already underway.

Delays and what's next

The shoot was pushed back mainly because the lead actors are juggling other big projects—Ranbir is busy with Love and War, Yash is filming Toxic, and Sunny Deol (who plays Hanuman) has family commitments.
The team is ironing out logistics to keep things on track.
Part one of Ramayan lands in theaters in 2026, while part two is expected to release in 2027.
