What's the story

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, is facing delays in its climax shoot. Originally scheduled for a March release, it remains unfinished with 10% of the shoot left. The delay is reportedly due to scheduling conflicts with Kapoor's Ramayana: Part Two (releasing on Diwali 2027) and Kaushal's Mahavatar (postponed from its December 2026 slot). A source told Mid-Day that Love & War will now resume shooting in the second half of 2026.

Director's resolve

Bhansali is determined to meet the January 2027 deadline

Despite the delays, Bhansali is determined to meet the January 2027 release deadline for Love & War. Another insider revealed, "He has been working non-stop for the last two years. The team is reworking timelines. Post-production is progressing alongside to save time." "Sanjay is certain that the film will release on schedule and exactly how he envisioned it." The makers have yet to officially announce a new release date.
