'SNL' season 51: Cast changes, new faces, and more

Entertainment

Saturday Night Live (SNL) is back for its 51st season and shaking things up by recruiting comedians from TikTok, podcasts, and streaming platforms—moving beyond its usual pool of sketch comics.
While longtime cast member Ego Nwodim is leaving and Heidi Gardner's run appears to be ending, fan favorites Bowen Yang and Kenan Thompson will return.

Meet the new cast members

Joining the show this year are Jane Wickline, Jeremy Culhane, Veronika Slowikowska, Tommy Brennan, and Kam Patterson—most of whom are known for their online comedy styles.
Lorne Michaels's move to bring in internet-savvy talent shows SNL is adapting to how young people discover comedy today.
By tapping into digital creators, SNL is staying fresh and keeping its spot in the evolving world of sketch comedy.
