DC Studios has dropped a first-look poster and a sneak peek of the teaser for its upcoming superhero film, Supergirl. The movie stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El and is directed by Craig Gillespie, with a script by Ana Nogueira. It's the second feature film from the James Gunn and Peter Safran era since they took over DC Studios. The full teaser trailer will be revealed on Thursday.

Plot details
'Supergirl' is based on Tom King's comic series
Supergirl is set to release on June 26, 2026. The film features Alcock in the lead role, alongside Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, and Jason Momoa as Lobo. The story is based on Tom King's 2022 comic book series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which was illustrated by Bilquis Evely.

Casting highlights
Gunn praised Alcock's casting in 'Supergirl'
In a September interview on The Howard Stern Show, Gunn lauded Alcock's casting as "might be the best bit of casting I've ever done in my entire life." He added, "I think she's absolutely stunning in the movie." The film will follow Supergirl and a young alien girl named Ruthye Marye Knoll as they journey across the galaxy to find Krem of the Yellow Hills, who murdered Knoll's father.
