Investigation details
Arrests made during raids across multiple states
This development comes after the Telangana Special Investigation Team (SIT) and CID made several arrests during raids in Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Punjab. The operation resulted in the arrest of eight organizers and the recovery of vital digital evidence connected to the betting network. It also coincides with an ongoing Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act into promotions that allegedly disguised illegal gambling apps as entertainment or charity initiatives.
Actor's role
Raj, Deverakonda, previously questioned by ED
The investigation around Raj and Deverakonda is reportedly focusing on whether their endorsements violated Indian gambling laws by promoting unregulated platforms. Earlier, ED questioned both the actors regarding potential money laundering linked to these apps. Deverakonda insists he promoted only a legal, skill-based gaming app, not betting, and no charges have been filed against either actor.
