It happened during the performance of a contestant who mimicked PM Modi on 'The Great Indian Laughter Show' when a fellow judge Zakir Khan asked Akshay that they will also accompany him to 'ring a bell' as a mark of appreciation for the contestant. To which Akshay replied, "Aap bell bajao, main aap ko bajata hun." (You ring the bell, I will bang you)
Veteran Journalist and Mallika Dua's father took to his social handle to criticise Akshay's insensitive remarks "I am going to screw this cretin Akshay Kumar for telling his co-worker Mallika Dua that 'Aap bell bajao, main aap ko bajata hun' (You ring the bell, I will bang you)... This is his sense of humour and language... Star Plus... Wake up," he wrote on Facebook.

One question that hounds everyone is: In the video Mallika along with Zakir were seen having a great laugh on Akshay's comment in the show but took offense just when she was ousted from the show. Why? Mallika had even tagged social activists and renowned journalists in her tweets. Is she doing this for publicity or does she hold Akshay responsible for her ouster?
