    What's the story

Indian film production company Pooja Entertainment has set its foot into metaverse by buying virtual land there.

This makes Pooja Entertainment the first production house in this country to venture into the digital universe.

Called Poojaverse, this particular metaverse will be used to introduce projects backed by the firm "through yet another medium."

Any individual can explore the space through a link.

    Context

    Why does this story matter?

A metaverse is a media form that sees the convergence of physical, augmented, and virtual realities in an online space. Anyone with a log in link can enter a particular metaverse.

The concept has seen a meteoric rise in the recent past with people even getting married on personal metaverses.

In the West, celebrities like Snoop Dogg and Paris Hilton have bought virtual spaces.

    Details

    What did the announcement say?

With Poojaverse, the firm, managed by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, and Deepshikha Ddeshmukh, will offer exclusive immersive experiences to the viewers.

Announcing the same, the official Twitter handle of Pooja Entertainment shared a brief look into the virtual land.

"Experience the first-ever Indian film announcement on the metaverse our very own virtual space called #Poojaverse," read a part of the caption.

'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' clip played in Poojaverse

In the announcement video, a clip of their recently announced venture, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, was being played at Poojaverse.

The clip is a part of the film's teaser that was released last week. This effectively means that the Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff-starrer has become the first-ever Indian movie to be announced within the metaverse.

    Information

Pooja Entertainment clocked in 27 years in industry this year

Notably, it was Pooja Entertainment that brought together Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda for the original Bade Miyan Chote Miyan 24 years ago.

In the metaverse, one can also see the posters of various movies launched by the production house in its career like Om Jai Jagadish, F.A.L.T.U, Bell Bottom, Coolie No.1, and Ganapath.

The firm has clocked in 27 years in the industry.
