After 5 years, India-China direct flights to resume
After half a decade, direct flights between India and China are set to take off again from November 9, 2025.
Daily flights between Kolkata and Guangzhou will be part of the resumed services, ending a pause that started in early 2020 due to the pandemic and border tensions.
Other airlines also planning to resume flights
China Eastern Airlines will restart its Shanghai-Delhi route on November 9.
These moves are part of both countries' efforts to reconnect and make travel smoother for students, business folks, and families.
Significance of restoring direct flights
This isn't just about easier trips—restoring direct flights signals a cautious warming of India-China ties.
It could boost trade, help people meet face-to-face again, and open up more opportunities for young travelers, entrepreneurs, and anyone curious about exploring across the border.
