Air India flight makes emergency return due to burning smell

An Air India flight from Mumbai to Chennai had to head back just 45 minutes after takeoff when a burning smell filled the cabin around midnight.
Thankfully, everyone on board was safe and no one got hurt.

Replacement plane was arranged for the passengers

Air India quickly arranged a replacement plane and helped out the stranded passengers.
A spokesperson reassured that passenger safety is our top priority, and said they're investigating what caused the issue.

Air India has faced several issues this month

This isn't an isolated case—June has seen Air India deal with technical glitches, emergency returns, bomb threats, and even food poisoning on other flights.
After a recent fatal crash earlier this month, these repeated problems are putting extra pressure on the airline's safety reputation.
