Badminton brings judges and ministers together in Delhi
Something you don't see every day: top judges and government ministers are facing off on the badminton court at Delhi's Thyagraj Stadium.
Organized by ex-international player Abantika Deka with a green light from the Supreme Court, the event features an exhibition match between Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Vikram Nath, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, and Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal.
84 judges join in for some friendly competition
The tournament has drawn 84 judges—including five women—from the Supreme Court and high courts, all playing singles and doubles matches.
There's another special match where Justices Nath and Dipankar Datta will take on both ministers.
Winners get their moment in the spotlight too, with former Chief Justice BR Gavai and Justice Vikram Nath set to honor them.
It's all about building connections (and having some fun) between India's judiciary and executive through sport.
