Bengaluru man strangles wife, tries to stage electric shock death

India

A 32-year-old man in Bengaluru has been arrested after allegedly strangling his wife and trying to make it look like she was electrocuted by a water heater.
The couple, who met on Instagram and had been married for just nine months, lived in Maragondanahalli.
On October 15, the woman was found dead in the bathroom; her husband claimed she died of electric shock from a water heater.

Husband in judicial custody as police continue investigation

Doubts were raised when the victim's sister filed a complaint, especially after the woman's 15-year-old daughter shared that the bathroom door was locked from outside and revealed the couple had quarreled the previous day.
When questioned by police on October 16, the husband admitted he killed his wife over suspicions of infidelity and tried to stage it as an accident.
He's now in judicial custody as police continue their investigation.
