Chandigarh: SUV with 14 challans hits sisters, 1 dies
An 18-year-old law student, Neroshpreet Singh from Amritsar, was arrested in Chandigarh two days after a hit-and-run that occurred on October 15, 2025.
He allegedly struck two sisters with his SUV near Dev Samaj College—one died at the scene, while the other is still in critical condition.
Singh fled but was later apprehended.
Shockingly, his vehicle already had 14 challans for dangerous driving.
Case registered, SUV seized
Police seized Singh's SUV and registered a case for reckless driving and hit-and-run.
After public protests over slow action, the local police post in-charge was replaced.
The victims, Sojef (22) and Isha (24), were hardworking and promising, and their family has called for stricter traffic law enforcement to prevent tragedies like this.
The investigation is ongoing.
